PowerMill 2023.1 update
The fixes in PowerMill 2023.1.
For information about new features and enhancements, see the what's new.
Toolpath fixes
A problem has been fixed that prevented the expected links from being included within the toolpath when the tool axis elevation was constrained. PMILL-18910
A problem has been fixed that could result in gouging links within a toolpath if tool axis limits had been set. PMILL-18896
A problem has been fixed that prevented Collision Avoidance from deviating the tool axis from a specified Fixed Angle to avoid a collision. The Tool Axis Limits can still be used to define constraints that must be adhered to. PMILL-18885
Problems have been fixed that prevented the Automatic method of Collision Avoidance from finding safe solutions. PMILL-18824, PMILL-19432
A problem has been fixed that resulted in gouging moves in an Offset Flat Finishing toolpath calculated with respect to a User Defined boundary. PMILL-19240
A problem has been fixed that resulted in gouging moves in a Raster Finishing toolpath that used a ball-nosed tool with asymmetric axial and radial thicknesses. PMILL-19278
A problem has been fixed when using the Automatic method of Collision Avoidance, which could result in gouging points that were not indicated by the toolpath's safety status. PMILL-19112
A problem has been fixed that could prevent the shank and holder clearances used in the Toolpath Verification dialog from being saved in a project for toolpaths that were gouge-checked after having been collision-checked. PMILL-19551
A problem has been fixed that could cause the tool axis to be incorrect along links defined with respect to a cylindrical safe area of finite length. PMILL-19177
The Turns option is now correctly saved in a Drilling Method. PMILL-16385
The Feed Rate option is now saved when importing toolpaths into a Drilling Method. PMILL-16386
Setup fixes
When a toolpath is dragged into or out of a setup, the correct clamp values are now set on it. PMILL-15108
Boundaries that belong to a toolpath that is part of a setup now respect the clamps that are associated with that setup. PMILL-17808
When dragging a toolpath in-between setups, PowerMill now displays an error message. Previously, the toolpath was removed from the setup. PMILL-19673
When a toolpath is moved from one setup to another, the clamps are not removed. PMILL-19154
Fixed a problem that caused PowerMill to close unexpectedly if a macro assigns clamps to a setup. PMILL-19272
General fixes
A problem has been fixed that resulted in a delay before PowerMill responded to selecting Calculate on a toolpath strategy dialog. PMILL-18771
Entity names are no longer added with single space, which could occur previously when importing CAD data via Autodesk Manufacturing Data Exchange Utility (AMDEU). Entities with such names could not be removed from the Explorer. PMILL-15972
If a project is saved that contains toolpath blocks that were imported as triangles via Autodesk Manufacturing Data Exchange Utility (AMDEU), PowerMill no longer attempts to reimport the data via AMDEU when opening the project. PMILL-18141
Simulation of an NC Program with an option file placed in a folder with a non-ASCII character in the name now works as intended. PMILL-10090
Machine simulation of tool-change sequences before 3+2 toolpaths now finish where they started. PMILL-16383
A parameter function has been added to check the current variant of PowerMill. PMILL-19500
Security
When access to a remote path is blocked, the Information dialog tells you what happened and what you can do next. PMILL-18292
It is now possible to refer to remote paths within MTD files when those paths are trusted or when Restrict Remote Paths is switched off. PMILL-18542
Customer error reporting (CER) fixes
A problem has been fixed that caused PowerMill to close unexpectedly when calculating Curve Profile or Feature Chamfer Milling toolpaths with a Contact Point boundary. This issue was identified by CER. PMILL-19672, PMILL-18520, PMILL-17573
A problem has been fixed that caused PowerMill to close unexpectedly when editing fixture offsets if the fixture offset list parameter is empty. This issue was identified by CER. PMILL-19029
A problem has been fixed that caused PowerMill to close unexpectedly while recognizing holes with specific geometry and tolerances. This issue was identified by CER. PMILL-14842
