PowerMill 2023.1.1 update
The fixes in PowerMill 2023.1.1.
Toolpath fixes
| A problem has been fixed that can cause gouging moves in Area Clearance and Rest Area Clearance toolpath calculations that use Offset All or Offset Model, and in Offset Flat Finishing toolpath calculations. The presence of the gouging moves was not indicated by the toolpath’s safety status when the toolpath was calculated, but an explicit gouge-check using Toolpath Verification did detect them if present. This problem was introduced in the PowerMill 2023.1 update, which we withdrew from availability. If you have toolpaths of this type that were calculated with PowerMill 2023.1, then we advise you to install the PowerMill 2023.1.1 update and recalculate them. | Multipencil toolpaths would sometimes have gouged the part. This is now fixed. PMILL-20034, PMILL-19989 |
Improved some Rest Finishing toolpath that would have contained untidy segments spanning from one region to another, or spikes. PMILL-19714, PMILL-19692, PMILL-19675
Reduced toolpath fragmentation in some Rest Finishing toolpaths. PMILL-19352
Reduced over-machining in some short, steep regions in Rest Finishing. PMILL-19113, PMILL-16710
Some Slice profile toolpaths with Flat multiple cuts would have been wrongly ordered. This is now fixed. PMILL-18065
A problem has been fixed that could result in unsafe moves when calculating Steep and Shallow Finishing toolpaths with the Fit Arcs option selected to define point distribution. PMILL-19933
Setup fixes
Some operations on a setup previously caused all toolpaths in the setup to be invalidated, for example, dividing a toolpath in a setup or creating a pattern of toolpaths. These operations no longer cause the toolpaths within the parent setup to be invalidated. PMILL-19983
Changing the clamp’s clearance on a setup now invalidates the toolpaths inside the setup because the toolpaths need to be recalculated to respect that clearance. PMILL-20028
In PowerMill 2023.1, drilling methods did not work correctly with the setups connections. PowerMill tried to calculate the drilling method before it was added to the setup, resulting in an incorrect invalidation warning followed by PowerMill closing unexpectedly. This issue has now been resolved. PMILL-19990
The measure commands on the Setup/Toolpath connections dialog have been made to work correctly. PMILL-19986
PowerMill no longer closes unexpectedly when mirroring a toolpath contained within a setup. PMILL-19984
PowerMill now mirrors the block correctly when a toolpath within a setup is mirrored. PMILL-14635, PMILL-19840
Opening a project from before PowerMill 2023.1 that contains setups now results in Use Setup Connections being unset, so previously defined connection settings are not unexpectedly updated. PMILL-19922
General fixes
Cutting data was not being read correctly for some tools in PowerMill 2023.1. This is now fixed. PMILL-20006
Customer error reporting (CER) fixes
A problem has been fixed that caused PowerMill 2023.1 to close unexpectedly when using Toolpath Strategy dialogs. If a Toolpath Strategy dialog was opened and fields on the Start Point or End Point pages were modified, PowerMill closed unexpectedly next time a Toolpath Strategy dialog was opened and those fields were modified again. This issue could also affect fields on the Moves and Clearances page. This issue was identified by CER. PMILL-19907
