PowerShape uses a customizable ribbon interface, containing tabs with two button types and extended tooltips.
In addition, a Quick Access toolbar, displayed above the ribbon, enables you to quickly perform standard functions, such as Save and Undo without using the ribbon.
Tabs
Select a tab to make it active and display the buttons on that tab:
- File — displays the Backstage View, which includes options to open new or existing models, Save, Print, and access the
Options dialog.
- Home — use basic commands such as Delete, Undo, Cut, Copy, and Paste. You can also use object selection and conversion options, collaborate on your work, and access Macros, Parameters and Add-Ins.
- Workplane — create Workplane and Point objects, and add objects to workplane groups.
- Wireframe — create Line, Arc, Curve, and other wireframe objects, and Sketch items using constraints.
- Solid — create primitive Solid objects and Solid Features.
- Surface — create primitive Surface objects, use the Smart Surfacer, and access manufacturing options.
- Assembly — create Components, add them to Assemblies, and manage Power Features.
- Edit — use basic transformations such as Move, Rotate, Scale and Offset. You can also Align, Limit, Project and Morph objects.
- Wizard — use
Toolmaker functions to split parts and create molds. You can also create electrodes, activate scanning and probing devices, and perform grading operations.
- Visualisation — use shading, model analysis and comparison options to inspect models. You can also specify the format of selected objects.
- Annotation — create text, balloon, and symbol objects. You can also create dimensions and schedules (tables), and specify hatch patterns.
- Draft — create drawings of geometry and model views.
- View — specify the view and appearance of the model in the graphics window.
- Manage — displays object-specific editing options when that object type is selected. For example, if a solid object is selected, the Solid Tools (Manage) tab is displayed. This tab contains options such as solid-face selection and modification, and the Solid Doctor. The available Manage tabs are:
