Create and Apply Structural Loads

Before you can analyze the structure, you need to create and apply load cases.

1. Create Load Cases

Load cases are the loads that act on the structure.

For each case:

  1. Assign a load case name and number. You can also keep the default values.
  2. Select a load case nature: dead, live, wind, snow, temperature, accidental or seismic.
  3. Click Define to add the new definition to the list of defined load cases.

2. Apply Loads

You can apply loads from the Load Definition dialog, or directly from the load tables.

To define the loads acting in a defined case using load tables:

  1. In the Loads table, select a load case from the Case column.
  2. Select a load type from the Load type column.
  3. Select the appropriate bars or nodes from the List column.

When you select the applied load type, the load table row is adjusted accordingly. Only the columns that define the load type display.
