Robot-AdvanceSteel Link

The Robot-AdvanceSteel Link extension allows bidirectional data exchange between Autodesk® Advance Steel® and Autodesk® Robot™ Structural Analysis Professional (referred to as Robot).

Advance Steel is designed for Structural Engineers and steel detailers, who need an easy-to use steel detailing application. Advance Steel offers dedicated modeling and detailing options that help the user increase productivity during his project creations by saving time through the automatic processes of detailing and documentation (BOMs).

Using Robot-AdvanceSteel Link you can:

• Exchange structural framing elements, material, and geometry
• Share internal forces calculated in Robot
• Transfer whole models or their parts.

The main purpose of this extension is to:

• Import the Robot structural model (elements, geometry, sections, materials, and analysis results) to Advance Steel in order to detail steel connections and automatically generate fabrication documents.
• Import the Advance Steel model (elements, sections, and materials) to Robot in order to perform structural analysis and code checking.

You can start work in Robot or in Advance Steel.

The transferred file format used by the extension is .smlx.
