Choose an analysis type and submit your model to the cloud.
Choose an analysis type and set the options before submitting to
Autodesk® Construction Cloud. Different analysis types define presets for environment and illuminance settings used for the lighting analysis.
Submit an analysis to the cloud
- Use the drop down to select an analysis type.
- Select the level in your model to analyze or select All to run the analysis on all levels of your model.
- If the analysis type selected allows, set the Environment variables.
Environment variables set the date and time ranges for the analysis. When you select the Illuminance Analysis type, you can also set the sky model used for the analysis.
- If the analysis type selected allows, set the Illuminance Settings.
Illuminance settings set a light threshold range and an analysis plane height for the analysis. The threshold values are used in the schedules produced with the analysis.
- Optional: For analysis types that use
sDA and ASE thresholds, click the pencil icon in the upper right corner of the section to change the default values.
- If the analysis type selected allows, set the resolution.
Lighting analysis uses cloud credits to process. A smaller resolution value will cost more cloud credits, but provide a higher detail analysis.
- Click Check Price.
- Click Start Analysis.
After selecting Start Analysis, the model geometry will be uploaded to the cloud rendering engine. Do not close the model or Revit during this process. Once the model is successfully uploaded to the cloud and the project is saved, it is okay to close the project or continue working in Revit. You can check the progress of the analysis selecting the Lighting command again, and using the drop down menu to find in progress analyses.
Note: Any changes you make to the model geometry or material settings will not be reflected in your analysis results, as the model has already been uploaded for analysis.
