Create a 3D View for Import to InfraWorks

Revit uses the default 3D view for transferring geometry to InfraWorks.

Turn off categories:

It is recommended to turn off the visibility of some categories in the model, such as topography and planting, that are not needed in the InfraWorks model.

  1. With the default 3D view open, click View tabGraphics panel (Visibility/Graphics).
  2. On the Model Categories tab of the Visibility/Graphics Overrides dialog, clear Planting and Topography, and any other categories for geometry that you do not want to transfer.
  3. Click OK.
Set length units (optional):

By default, InfraWorks models created with Model Builder, use the LL84 coordinate system, which reports elevation in meters. If you are importing the Revit model into a model that uses the LL84 coordinate system, set the project length units to meters in Revit. If the InfraWorks model uses another coordinate system or different units of measurement, consider matching the length units in your Revit model. Having consistent units will make it easier to adjust the position of the model later, if required.

  1. Click Manage tabSettings panel (Project Units).
  2. For Format for Length, select Meters.
  3. Click OK.
