About Snaps
When placing an element or sketching a line, use object snaps to align with existing geometry. Enable or disable snaps, define snap increments, and use keyboard shortcuts and jump snaps to increase productivity.
About Snap Points
When you are placing an element or sketching a line, elements snap to reference planes and other elements of the same category. Different types of snaps provide different behaviors.
Enable or Disable Snaps
Enable object snaps to more easily align a placed element or sketched line with existing geometry.
Define Snap Increments
As you change the zoom level in a view, snap increments change. When you zoom in, snap increments are smaller. When you zoom out, snap increments are larger. Define snap increments for dimension lengths and angles to suit your needs.
Override Snap Settings
When placing an element or sketching a line, you can temporarily override snap settings. Temporary overrides affect a single pick only.
Snaps Dialog
Use the Snaps dialog to enable and disable object snaps and define snap increments. The dialog also lists keyboard shortcuts to override snap settings for a single pick.
