Change the Physical Properties of a Material

To change the physical properties of a material in a project, modify options on the Physical tab in the Material Editor panel of the Material Browser. This information is used in the structural analysis of buildings.

Note: Materials do not display in wireframe views.

To change the physical properties of a material

1. Click Manage tab Settings panel (Materials).

2. In the Material Browser, select the material to change in the project materials list.
3. In the Material Editor panel, click the Physical tab.
   Note: If no Physical tab displays, a physical asset has not been added to this material.
4. Click the triangle to the left of a property category to display the properties and their settings.
5. Change the settings to the desired values.

   Read-only parameters represent the natural material properties. Those that you can change represent standards of engineering practice.

6. To save the changes to the material, click Apply.
7. To exit the Material Browser, click OK.
