Modify a Revit project view without leaving a sheet view.

By modifying a view on a sheet you are able to make changes to the view in the context of the sheet rather than opening the view to make your modifications.

To modify a view on a sheet, first open a sheet in your project.

The view will need to be activated before we can make modifications to the view.

You can activate a view by double clicking inside the viewport, or by selecting a view and clicking Activate View in the Viewport panel of the Modify tab.

Let's say we want to reorganize the sheet to make room for another view.

In this case, we'll adjust the view scale from 1:100 to 1:200.

Double click this elevation view to activate the view. In the View Control Bar, select the View Scale tool and change the scale to 1:200.

The view scale has now been reduced and we have room to add a new view to the sheet. We can make other changes to the view.

Anything you could do with the view itself open can be done with an active view on a sheet.

Here we will add aligned dimensions to the view.
