Prepare the Model for a Batch Print Job

Complete these tasks before using Batch Print to print drawings from a model.

• Specify print settings: In addition to using the printing preferences of the default printer, Batch Print uses print settings stored in the Revit project.
• Define view/sheet sets (optional): In Revit, you can define sets of views and sheets for printing or exporting. For example, you might define one view/sheet set named Construction Documents, and another view/sheet set named Presentation Documents. In Batch Print, you can then print entire sets or selected views or sheets from sets.
• Save changes to the project: Batch Print prints drawings from the saved version of the project file. If you have not saved recent changes, the printed drawings will not show them.

  After the batch print job starts, you should not modify the project until the print job finishes. If you start a batch print job and then make and save changes to the project before the print job finishes, some of the printed drawings may reflect the new changes.

To prepare the Revit project

1. Start Revit, and open the project that contains the drawings to print.
2. Click File tab PrintPrint Setup.
3. In the Print Setup dialog, set the options as desired, and click OK.
4. To define view/sheet sets (optional):
   1. Click File tab Print.
   2. In the Print dialog, under Print Range, click Selected views/sheets.
   3. Click Select.
   4. In the View/Sheet Set dialog, do the following:
      • Select the desired views and sheets for this set.
      • Click Save As.
      • Enter a name for the view/sheet set, and click OK.
      • Click OK.

      Under Selected views/sheets, the name of the new view/sheet set displays.

   5. In the Print dialog, click Close.
5. Click File tab Save.

   Do not close the project. Leave it open.

Next, create a batch print job.
