As you layout sheets in your model, you may need to make modifications to where views are placed within the sheet set. There are a few tools you can use to help you make those modifications when necessary. In this video you will see examples of these tools and how to use them.

First let's examine a situation where you have completed placing your views, but realize you want to change the position of one view for another one. In this example the Level 1 plan was placed on the wrong sheet, and you want to place the Level 1 view on sheet A102 instead of A102.1. Select the view on the sheet and select the view to swap it with from the list. In this case, select the Level 2 view already placed on sheet A102. A message displays because the other view is already placed. Click OK to swap the view. Level 2 is removed, and Level 1 placed instead. Level 2 can now be placed on Sheet A102.1.

If you have adjusted your view titles, when swapping views, you may want to keep the view titles in position. To do this, in the type properties of the view, select Preserve Title Position. Now when a view is swapped for another view of the same type, the modifications and positioning of the view title are maintained after the swap.

Another tool for adjusting the layout of sheets is Move View Aligned to Sheet. In this example the detail s included on sheet A103 are not fitting well, but sheet A104 can accommodate them. Select the views, right click, and select Move View Aligned to Sheet. Select sheet A104 from the list of sheets and click OK. All selected views are moved from sheet A103 and placed on sheet A104 in the same position. If views are on multiple sheets, select them from the Project Browser instead of selecting them from a sheet.

The last tool lets you quickly remove views from sheets. Instead of opening each sheet and deleting each view, select views from the Project Browser, right click, and select "Remove from Sheet".

In this example, the elevations and sections are removed from the sheets so they can be re-organized.

These tools can be used to help you reorganize and layout sheets in your models after you have begun the placement of views.
