Because each instance of Revit Server can have any or all of 3 possible roles enabled (Host, Accelerator, and Admin), there are many different ways you can configure your Revit Server network to meet your server-based worksharing needs.
In general, however, the following practices are recommended:
- Enable the Host role on Revit Server instances that are geographically or organizationally central for teams, but keep in mind that as the number of Hosts in your Revit Server network increases, so does the organizational complexity, the backup requirements, and the hardware costs.
- Enable the Accelerator role on a Revit Server instance at every site where there are Revit application workstations.
