Architects and civil engineers often need to maintain consistent geographic location (geolocation) information between models that are managed using multiple BIM products.

To simplify this workflow, Revit can use grid (GIS) coordinates from a linked DWG file.

To help architects and civil engineers maintain consistent geographic location (geolocation) information between models, Revit can use grid (GIS) coordinates from a linked DWG file.
Link a DWG File and Use Shared Coordinates
When the survey point or the project base point is already defined using grid (GIS) coordinates from the civil engineer, you can link a site DWG file and use those coordinates to establish shared coordinates for accurate positioning of the model on the site.

When the survey point or the project base point is not yet defined using grid coordinates, you can link a site DWG file and acquire its geolocation information to establish shared coordinates for accurate positioning of the model on the site.
