Replace Shared or Family Parameters

You can replace a shared parameter with a family parameter or a family parameter with a shared parameter.

Family parameters are specific to one family. You can also replace one shared parameter with another.

1. Open a family for editing.
2. In the drawing area, select the object.
3. Click Modify | <object) tabProperties panel (Family Types).
4. In the Family Types dialog, select the parameter you wish to replace.
5. Click Modify.
6. In the Parameter Properties dialog, select a shared parameter or create a family parameter to replace the existing parameter, as desired.
7. Click OK. The parameter name appears in the Family Types dialog.
8. Click OK.
