Uploading Parameters

You can upload parameters from a shared parameter text file or from an active Revit model.

Uploading a shared parameter file

Select the upload icon to select an existing shared parameters file to load into the service. This process may take a while. Closing the window will cause the process to stop. When the upload is complete, you can download a report of the results by clicking View details. The report will display in .csv format.

Parameters uploaded from a shared parameter file are automatically labeled with the shared parameter file name and with the name of the parameter's group within the shared parameter file. These parameters will need to be edited to include category and property palette group before they can be imported to into Revit projects.

Parameters uploaded from a Revit Project or Family

Note: This is only available when launching the service from within Revit.
Parameters uploaded from a Revit file include their property palette group, category or categories, and type/instance setting with their generated definitions. These parameters are considered complete in their definitions and can be immediately imported into other Revit projects.

Tip: Uploading your company's standard template or a curated project can save a lot of time when initially setting up your parameters.
