Create cut geometry at the flange of intersecting beams with a related connection between the elements.
To create a parametric saw cut at the steel element flange
- Click Steel tab
Parametric Cuts panel Miter drop-down
(Saw cut - Flange ).
- Select the steel elements to cut.
- Press
<Enter>.
The cut is created at the flange of the intersecting element. The sub-connection displays as a dash-lined box. You can click on the diamond symbol under the numbered label to change the element cut by the Saw cut - Flange tool.
- Select the connection box to access the instance and type properties of the sub-connection.
Saw cut - Flange cuts are only visible when the Detail Level of the view is set to Fine.
