Transfer straight or curved framings using the Advance Steel Extension for Revit.
Structural straight or curved framings are transferred using the Advance Steel Extension for Revit:
- Imported in Revit as structural framings.
- Exported from Revit as beams.
- The start or end extensions and start or end cutbacks are exported as shortenings.
- Steel fabrication beams will be imported in Advance Steel with the system axis position set to middle and an additional Z offset, in order to place the beam at the correct position in the model.
Structural columns are transferred using the Advance Steel Extension for Revit:
- Imported in Revit as structural columns, with column style Slanted - End Point Driven.
- Exported from Revit as columns.
- The Base/Top Cut Style parameters are exported as shortenings.
Note: Any structural framing or column, exported from Revit or Advance Steel that has an associated cut in the SMLX file, will be imported in Revit as a structural framing or column with a
steel fabrication shape.
The family and type of structural framings and columns can be transferred using
rule based mapping.
