Cannot Paste Selection

This issue occurs when you attempt to paste an element or the clipboard contents into an unsupported view.

The following are examples of situations where the paste action will be limited:

• Pasting a model element, such as a wall, into a drafting view or a legend view
• Pasting a tag from one view to another
• Pasting a view reference into another view
• Pasting elements from a model into family

Errors

• Cannot paste selection in <view_name> view.
• Can't paste current clipboard contents into <view_name>.

Solution: Try pasting into another view, such as a plan view, a reflected ceiling plan view, or 3D view. As an alternative, create a new element instead of pasting an element that was copied to the clipboard.
