The topics in this section describe how to modify and work with design options.
Topics in this section
Edit a Design Option
Edit a design option to add or modify its elements. Add elements to the primary option that is automatically created for each design option set, and for any secondary design options that you add.
Determine the Active Option
The active option is the design option that is currently being edited. If you are editing an option, the current view displays the main model and the active option.
Move Elements from the Main Model to a Design Option
If main model elements need to reference and update with elements in a secondary option, you must move the main model elements into that design option. Then you can edit the design option to modify those elements as desired.
Duplicate a Design Option
You can duplicate and modify a design option to streamline the process of developing multiple design options.
Annotate and Detail Design Options
Annotations and details (such as keynotes, dimensions, and tags) are view-specific elements. They cannot be part of a design option.
Delete Design Options and Option Sets
Deleting a design option or a design option set also removes the elements and views associated with the options.
Incorporate a Design Option into the Main Model
After choosing a design option to implement, you can incorporate it into the main model and delete other options that are no longer necessary.
