Learn about Content Source Providers and how they work with Vault.
Sometimes files share properties across different software application groups, also known as content providers. When a file from a supported content provider is created or migrated into a vault, the property name is appended with a marker to indicate from which application group the property was obtained. Since it is possible to have the same property from different application groups, the marker makes it easier to manage duplicate properties that you want to migrate or import into a vault. For example, you could have three Author properties, one for each known application group:
If an Author user-defined property was mapped to these three properties at the same time, then Author(I) would take precedence as it is ranked higher on the mapping list.
