The settings configured on the Units of Measure dialog apply to new items created using the New Item command, and rows that have been added to a BOM using the New Item command.
Configure Units of Measure
- Click Tools Administration Vault Settings.
- In the Vault Settings dialog box, select the Items tab.
- In the Units section, click Configure. The Units of Measure dialog box lists the base units and calculated units.
- Click New.
- In the Name dialog box, enter a name for the new unit.
- In the Symbols dialog box, enter a symbol for the new unit.
- Select a base unit from which the new unit is calculated.
- The conversion factor is a multiplier applied to the base unit to calculate the new unit. Enter a conversion factor.
- If the new unit is a base unit, select the This is a Base Unit check box. If this option is selected, the new unit is available in the base unit list when creating other units.
- Click OK.
- In the Units of Measure dialog box, click OK.
Remove a Custom Unit of Measure
- In the Units of Measure dialog box, select the unit of measure from the list, and then click Delete.
