For part family drawings that require many pages to detail, create multiple sheets and link them to the top-level iFactory rather than the individual iMembers. In other words, start by creating one drawing number with all revision data and the table of represented parts on sheet 1, then provide additional details, such as differences, on the other sheets.
For the preceding iPart members illustration, follow these steps to document their details in multiple sheets.
- Document all iPart members within an IDW drawing or series of drawings linked to the entire iFactory.
- Include a table of the parameter values that differentiate the iFactory members.
- Link one or more sheets to the IDW to represent each iPart member as needed.
- Create an item from any iPart member.
Autodesk does not recommend creating a tabulated IDW from individual iPart members.
