Thin Client Enhancements

Learn about several enhancements made to the Thin Client.

Show/hide Unreleased Files in Items

In the Administrator Settings dialog, select "Show released files only" to display the item with associated files in released as well as the non-released state in the "Associated Files" tab.

Customize the Change Order View

You can set a filter in the Change Orders workspace to only display change orders that are in Open states (Open, Work, Check, Review, and Approved). All change orders in Closed or Canceled state are hidden from the view. By default, the Open States filter is turned on.

For more information, see Thin Client - Change Orders.

View Files

  • View file in Items workspace - You can now view the file in Viewer in a new browser tab without a need to go to the Items workspace to view the file. Previously, when you clicked the object in the Items workspace under the Associated files tab, you were routed to the Files workspace to view the file. For more information, see Thin Client - Items.
  • View image file - You can now view the image file on the View tab directly without a need to download it.

    A Vault Ideas submission

  • Open file in the browser - For non-design files, if the file extension is supported in the browser, you can open the file in the browser. Otherwise, the file is downloaded on the machine. The "Open File in Browser" command is available in the View tab on the file's details page. For more information, see Thin Client - The Viewer.

Print Data to Excel

You can now extract data from the Thin Client to an Excel spreadsheet and preserve the layout at the same time when copying the data from the print preview window.

For more information, see Thin Client - Print.

Update Visualization

To make it easier to update the visualization file for the currently selected file version, we added the command "Update Visualization" in the ActionBar.

Username Cache

In this release, we added the provision to cache username in the browser for easy input. You no longer need to input the username every time you login to the Thin Client.
