Calculations are performed analogously as the settlement calculations. The only difference lies in the consideration of the maximum and minimum stresses under the footing instead of average stresses. Values of the settlement at points of the maxium and minimum stresses are the basis for calculation of displacement of corners.
The difference in settlements results from calculating settlements in corners. This condition may be also interpreted as a limitation of the foundation's overturning that results from uneven settlement of corners due to occurrence of loads on eccentricity.
