Use this dialog to define a soil pressure load applied to a selected list of elements according to the direction you specified. The load is defined for the selected load case.

Soil Pressure.
- Case
- Specifies the name and number of the current load case.
- Panels / Bars
- Select the type of object to which the load is applied.
- List of objects
- The list of bars or panels on which the soil pressure load is defined.
Note: The objects that are positioned below the Z coordinate, are loaded. The Z coordinate is assumed to be the soil level in the
Soil Pressure - Parameters dialog. The load value depends on how deep a given element is entrenched in soil.
- Spacing (bars only)
- Specify a spacing value for the bars.
Note: A spacing value is necessary when applying a soil load on bars, because the soil pressure is calculated as planar load.
- Load direction (for panels)
- The soil pressure is always defined as a load normal with respect to the surface. The only parameter you can specify is whether the load is defined
According to local surface system (according to the sense of the local Z axis) or
Opposite to local surface system.
- Load direction (for bars)
- Select a load direction according to
Global or
Local system of a bar.
- Parameters
- opens the
Soil Pressure - Parameters, in which soil parameters or backfill load can be defined.
