Set up a Modal Analysis

  1. Click Analysis Analysis Types. The Analysis Types dialog opens.
  2. Click New to create a new case. The New Case Definition dialog opens.
  3. Select Modal, and then click OK. The Modal Analysis Parameters dialog opens.
  4. Specify the parameters, mass matrix, and active mass directions for the modal analysis, and then click OK. To specify parameters such as the analysis mode, the analysis method, the limits, and the seismic parameters, click Advanced parameters >>.
  5. Specify the analysis method and parameters in the Non-linear Analysis Algorithm Options dialog.
  6. Click OK to go back to the Analysis Type dialog. The new case appears at the bottom the list of load cases.
Tip: To set up parameters on a selection of load cases, enter a list of cases in the Case list box, and then click Set parameters.
