After selecting a non-linear hinge type, it can be assigned to structure members as follows:
- Select structure members in which a non-linear hinge is to be defined using either method:
- Enter the member numbers in the Current selection field.
- Graphically select the list of members. The object numbers are automatically entered in the Current selection field.
- Determine the coordinate of the hinge location on a member.
- Click Apply.
Note: When using the previous method for defining hinges, the x coordinate is calculated from the beginning of the member.
Another way of assigning a hinge, is to select the hinge type and in the drawing area, select the successive members on which the hinge is to be assigned. The x coordinate determines where the hinge is applied to the member.
Note: If you use this method to assign a hinge to a structure member, the x coordinate is calculated from the beginning to the end of the member depending on where you clicked the mouse on the member. On the member, arrows that determine the direction for incrementing a member length coordinate display.
