Use this option to define the character of the loads applied to a bar. There are two ways to access this option:

As specified by the code, you should specify the character of the applied loads in one or both planes of the member cross-section axes when you calculate code coefficients (for buckling, and lateral buckling). You can choose load cases recognized in the indicated steel code. This example of the Load Type dialog determines the requirements of the French steel code: Eurocode 3.
During automatic calculations, the character of the load changes together with the changes of load case. For automatic calculations, the default option is Constant Moment, Linearly. After a calculation case is selected manually, or the value of internal forces is defined by the user, the character of the load can be exactly determined.
