Opening the Snow/Wind Load dialog and clicking the Snow tab displays the following dialog.
The dialog is divided into several fields with groups of specific options.
At the top of the dialog are the following options:
- Region - A list of available snow regions. A snow region is one of the factors determining the snow pressure on the roof of a structure.
- Type - Specifies the structure site class (location). It is used to specify the region (mountainous or flat) where the structure that is subjected to the snow effect is located.
The Snow Pressure field has options for normal and extreme snow loads :
- Automatic - Automatically defines the snow pressure based on the site parameters for the structure.
- Manual - Lets you manually define snow pressure.
The Snow Gathering field has the following options:
- Snow Redistribution - Generates a snow load that accounts for snow slipping from roofs, snow blowing off roofs, and snow collecting behind various obstacles (gutters and acroterions). The default snow loads are generated with regard to the snow redistribution on roof planes.
- Gutters - Bar List - Specifies the envelope nodes in which additional obstacles have been placed to prevent snow from slipping roof planes. These obstacles force the snow to stay on roof planes and increase the roof load locally. Envelope nodes can be entered manually or graphically.
