Seismic Analysis Parameters (French Code PS69)

Parameters of a structure seismic analysis depend on a seismic code used during calculations of a structure influenced by seismic impact. Select French seismic code PS69 (Regles Parasismiques 1969 Revisées 1982) in the New Case Definition dialog or click Parameters in the Analysis Type dialog.

To complete the seismic analysis according to the rules given in a code, define the following parameters:

• Damping type:
  • Normal
  • Average
  • Weak
• Parameters:
  • Alpha - Seismic Intensity Coefficient
  • Delta - Foundation Coefficient
• Soil Type:
  • Rigid
  • Flexible

In the lower part of the dialog, the Direction definition and Filters buttons are located.

The seismic excitation multiplier is calculated according to the following:

Sa = β * α * δ

where:

β - Coefficient of response function, depending on the ground type and eigenperiod,

α - Seismic intensity coefficient,

δ - Foundation coefficient.
