Generating 3D Boreholes

To aid in visualizing the subsurface conditions in 3D dimensions the Geotechnical Modeler allows the user to create three-dimensional boreholes for the geology field data. The 3D Boreholes dialog allows you to generate and configure the borehole geometry:

  1. Open the 3D Boreholes window by selecting from the ribbon:
  2. Select the Geology Field used to generate the 3D boreholes, shading and associated labels.
  3. Specify the borehole Diameter and Vertical Exaggeration for the 3D geometry.
  4. Select Create 3D Boreholes to generate or regenerate the boreholes in model view.
  5. Select Erase 3D Boreholes to erase the boreholes from the drawing.
  6. Utilize the 3D Export tool to share the 3D borehole geometry in a new Civil 3D drawing.
