To assign a rate item to an object

In the most basic tagging operation, you apply a single rate item to a single object in the drawing.

  1. Open a drawing in which a rate item file is open.
  2. Click Analyze tabQTO panelQTO Manager Find.
  3. In the QTO Manager vista, click .
  4. In the rate item list, select a rate item.
  5. Press Enter.
  6. Select an object in the drawing.
  7. Right-click or press Esc to end the selection process.

To assign multiple rate items to a closed area

Speed up the assignment of rate items to objects in the drawing by tagging objects or groups of objects in the drawing with multiple rate items.

  1. Open a drawing in which a rate item file is open.
  2. Click Analyze tabQTO panelQTO Manager Find.
  3. In the QTO Manager vista, click .
  4. Press Ctrl+click to select each rate item you want to assign from the rate item list.
  5. Press Enter.
  6. On the Command line, enter O to select objects rather than points.
  7. Select one or more closed areas in the drawing.
    Note: To select all of the closed areas of a single type, right-click the area and click Select Similar.

    The rate items are assigned to the closed area(s).

  8. Press Esc to end the command.

To add rate items to others attached to an object

As a project progresses, you may need to add rate items to or remove them from the objects you have tagged. You can add or remove each rate item attached to an object individually, or remove all the rate items assigned to an object or group of objects.

  1. Open a drawing in which rate items are attached to objects.
  2. Click Analyze tabQTO panelQTO Manager Find.
  3. Select an object whose attached rate item(s) you want to edit.
  4. In the QTO Manager vista, click .
  5. In the Edit Rate Items dialog box, click .
  6. In the Rate Item List dialog box, select the rate item you want to attach to the object in the drawing. Click OK.
  7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6, as needed.
  8. In the Edit Rate Items dialog box, click OK when finished.
