Prompt line improvements (2024)

We've added new functionality to the prompt line input and tools, including Hotkey mode switching.

The prompt line now includes these options:

  • Toggle between Abs and Rel to enter absolute or relative numeric values. Typing a or r in the prompt line still works in the same way as before.

  • New prompt line input modes:

    • Automatic (default) - There is no need to move the mouse to the prompt line. Keyboard number input is automatically sent to the prompt line as input. When you start to type, a blue line is displayed below the prompt line entry area. In this mode, single hotkeys can be used, excluding the reserved keys: a, r and numbers, which are interpreted as coordinates or value inputs.

    • Tab - Use the Tab key or click in the prompt line to activate it for number entry. A blue line is displayed below the prompt line entry area when it is activated for number input. In this mode, any hotkey can be assigned including a, r and numbers.

Note: To enter text strings, you need to press Tab or click in the prompt line for both modes.
  • Specify the number of lines to display in the prompt line. Click on the arrow icon to select 1, 2, or 3 lines for permanent prompt line display. You can still use the prompt line history icon to open a floating window that displays the full prompt history.

  • Display of the current Construction Tolerances, units, and grid spacing.
