Use this procedure to draw a non-associative polygonal 2D or extruded 3D space. A polygonal space is composed of line and arc segments and can be used to represent non-rectangular rooms.
- Open the tool palette that contains the Space tool you want to use, and select it.
- On the Properties palette, for Create type, select Polygon.
Note: For spaces with the Create type of Insert, Rectangle, or Polygon, the Associative setting is always No.
- For Segment type, select if the first space segment should be a line or an arc.
- Expand Component Dimensions.
- Specify the geometry type of the new space:

- If you have selected Line for Segment type, specify the start and end point of the first linear segment on screen.
- If you have selected Arc for Segment type, specify the start point, a point on the arc, and the endpoint of the segment on screen.
- Proceed with adding segments for the space.
By default, for each new segment the segment type of the previous segment is used. If necessary, you can change the segment type in the Properties palette.
- Close the space and press Enter.
