When you create a door/window assembly style, you assign characteristics to any or all of the components, and save them as a named style. In this way, you standardize the appearance of all assemblies with that style. When you modify a style, all door/window assemblies in your drawing that use the style are updated to reflect the changes.
Task | Comment | |
---|---|---|
1 | Open a drawing | Open the drawing in which you want to add a door and window assembly. If you are working in a structured AutoCAD Architecture 2024 toolset project, open a construct from the Project Navigator. |
2 | Prepare the drawing for the door and window assembly | Add the door style for the assembly to the drawing. |
3 | Create the door and window assembly style | Although you can also use a predefined door and window assembly tool, you can also create a custom style by modifying an existing style or by converting a door, window, opening, 2D layout grid, or an elevation sketch. |
4 | Define glazing or panels | Define the infills for the cells of the door/window assembly style before assigning them to the style. |
5 | Define the frame and mullions | Define the door/window assembly frame (using profiles and specifying offsets) and mullions before assigning them to the door/window assembly style. |
6 | Assign infills to the style | Add the infills that you previously defined by assigning the definitions to the door/window assembly style. |
7 | Assign the frame and mullions to the style | Add the frames and mullions that you previously defined by assigning the definitions to the door/window assembly style. |
8 | Add material to infills and mullions | Assign materials to the door/window assembly style if desired. |
9 | Add this door/window assembly style to your library | Create a tool to use when adding other door/window assemblies of the same style to your drawing. |
