Allows you to configure and connect to one of the supported databases for catalog data.

The following options are displayed.
Data Source
Connect to any one of the supported databases for your catalog data. By default, Microsoft® Access is selected as the data source.
Note: If you have selected Microsoft Access, the Configure Database dialog displays the catalog and footprint database locations.
- Microsoft Access
- Sets the catalog data source connection to a Microsoft® Access database.
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Sets the catalog data source connection to a Microsoft® SQL Server™ database.
Server Details
If you have selected Microsoft SQL Server as your database, then enter the server instance and authentication details to establish connection to the SQL Server. Based on the requirements of your database or application, select either Windows Authentication or use a specific user name and password to log on to the SQL Server.
- SQL Server Link
- Shows a list of server instances. Click Browse to navigate and select the appropriate server instance for your connection.
- Use Windows authentication
- Allows a network user to access the database for this connection without supplying a separate user name or password because these credentials are obtained from the Windows network security process.
- Use SQL Server authentication
- Sets the logon requirements so you must enter a user name and password to open the connection.
- Remember my user name and password
- Saves your user name and password so that you do not need to enter your credentials each time you open the connection.
- Connect
- Establishes your connection to the selected SQL Server name (instance).
Note: Once the connection is established, the credential fields are disabled —click Disconnect to log off, and then use a different user name and password for establishing a new connection.
- Connection Status
- Displays the SQL Server connection status.
Database Details
Specifies the catalog and footprint database for your connection.
- Catalog Database
- Select the catalog database. If you have selected Microsoft Access as your catalog data source, the catalog database displays the path of the default_cat.mdb. If you are using a project-specific mdb file, then the project-specific mdb file path is displayed.
- Footprint Database
- Select the footprint database. If you have selected Microsoft Access as your footprint data source, the footprint database displays the path of the footprint_lookup.mdb. If you are using a project-specific mdb file, then the project-specific mdb file path is displayed.
