About Controlling the Appearance of Palettes

You can use workspaces to control the display and appearance of palettes.

Many palettes, known as secondary windows, can be set to dock, anchor, or float in the application window. You can define the size, location, or appearance of these windows by changing their properties in a workspace. The palettes available in the program include:
  • Blocks Palette
  • Command Line
  • Design Center
  • DWG History
  • External References
  • Layer Properties Manager
  • Markup Set Manager
  • Properties
  • Push to Autodesk Docs
  • Quick Calc
  • Ribbon
  • Share View
  • Sheet Set Manager
  • Tool Palette
  • Trace Palette

(the following palettes are not available in AutoCAD LT)

  • Activity Insights
  • Advanced Render Settings
  • Command Macros
  • dbConnect Manager
  • Lights in Model
  • Material Browser
  • Material Editor
  • Sun Properties
  • Visual Styles Manager

For example, the following table explains the default property settings for the Tool Palettes window in the Drafting & Annotation workspace. To display these property settings in the CUI editor, select the Drafting & Annotation workspace in the Customizations In pane, expand Palettes in the Workspace Contents pane, select Tool Palette, and then look at the settings in the Properties pane.
