The COPY command creates duplicates of objects at a specified distance and direction from the originals.
In AutoCAD MEP 2024 toolset, when you use COPY to copy a selection set of objects (for example, a complete duct branch), the software copies the objects and, if possible, connects a suitable object in the selection set, such as a tee or takeoff, to a segment at the destination. When connecting the object, the software breaks into the segment and then aligns and orientates the object (and the selection set).
To copy a device or panel, use Alignment grips instead. The grips enable you to align the copy perpendicular to an object, such as a wall.
