Edit Drawing View Dialog Box (AutoCAD Mechanical Toolset)

Use this dialog box to control the properties of elements within an Inventor link drawing view

Note: Inventor Link is available only on 64-bit systems. Note that it is not installed by default.

Properties

Controls the properties of the selected view.

 

Scale

Specifies a scale factor for the view.

 

Parametric Border Sizing

When you select this option, view ports you define will persist after you update the view. If you clear this option, view ports you define will be lost when you update the view.

 

Relative to Parent

Defines the scale factor relative to the parent view.

 

Detail Symbol

Controls the character labels for details and section views.

 

Label Pattern

Names a view according to a pattern controlled by symbol standards. The pattern uses the detail label <Detail_Label> and the detail scale <Detail_Scale> as variables in the pattern that serves as the view's name.

 

Redefine Boundary

Redraws the viewport boundary of a drawing view.

Drag rectangle around detail: Drag the cursor around the new view area.

 

Independent View Display

Controls whether or not the detail view's display properties are dependent on the parent view. If checked, options on the tabs become available. If unchecked, options on the tabs are not available.

 

Placement

Controls the placement of the selected view.

 

Move with Parent

If the view has an associated parent view, specifies whether the view moves when the parent view is moved.

  • No Alignment

    Specifies no alignment with its parent view.

  • Horizontal

    Aligns the view horizontally with its parent view.

  • Vertical

    Aligns the view vertically with its parent view.

Hidden Lines Tab

Controls the settings for hidden lines in drawing views.

 

Display Hidden Lines

Displays hidden lines in the view.

 

Calculate Hidden Lines

Turns on the Calculate Hidden Line option. If off, hidden lines are not calculated or displayed in the view.

 

Display Tangencies

Displays tangent silhouettes in the view.

 

Remove Coincident Edges

Removes duplicate edges in the view.

 

Display Interference Edges

Calculates and displays the resulting edge when mating parts interfere in an assembly.

 

Display As

Controls the display of hidden edges when the Calculate Hidden Lines option is disabled.

Display Tab

Controls the display of annotations and edge properties for the selected view.

 

Annotation Creation

Controls the display of tapped holes and parametric dimensions.

 

Tapped Hole Thread Lines

Controls the display of tapped hole thread lines in a drawing view.

 

Parametric dimensions

Controls the display of parametric dimensions in a drawing view.

 

Automatic Centerlines

Controls the display of centerlines in a drawing view.

 

Centerline Settings

Opens the Centerlines dialog box, where you control how centerlines and center marks appear in drawing views.

Standard Part Tab

Controls the representation of a part in the drawing view.

 

2D Representation

Sets 2D representation for standard 3D parts in the drawing view. This does not change the part in any way.

 

True

Represents a projected view of the part with all its details, as it is generated in Mechanical Desktop.

 

Standard

Represents a sectional view of the part with its details displayed.

 

Simplified

Represents a simplified sectional view of the part without the details.

Section Tab

Controls the settings for section views.

 

Type

Controls the type of section view.

 

None

Does not create a section view.

 

Full

Creates a full section view for base, auxiliary, broken, and orthographic views.

 

Half

Creates a half section view through a work plane or work point.

 

Offset

Creates an offset section view from base, orthographic, broken, or auxiliary views.

 

Aligned

Creates an aligned section view from base, orthographic, or auxiliary views.

 

Breakout

Creates a breakout section view from base, orthographic, or auxiliary views.

 

Radial

Creates a radial section view from base, orthographic, or auxiliary views.

 

Symbol

Specifies the symbol to use for section views.

 

Label

Specifies the label for the section view.

 

Hatch

Specifies whether a section view is hatched.

 

Pattern

Sets the hatch pattern and parameters for a section view. Opens the AutoCAD Hatch Patterns dialog box.

 

Hide Obscured Hatch

Hides hatch patterns normally out of view or obscured.
