Exercise A4: Saving Images

In this exercise you save images and set the file name, path, and format in the process.

When you save an image, the image format that you select determines whether AutoCAD Raster Design toolset prompts you to specify additional parameters, such as the encoding method for TIFF images.

Exercise

    Open the drawing file for this exercise

  1. In the ..\Program Files\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\RasterDesign2024.Bundle\Contents\Tutorials\Tutorial1 folder, open the drawing file GettingStarted_04.dwg.
  2. Save the images

  3. On the ribbon, click Raster Tools tab Insert & Write panel Save .
  4. Select the image frame of the USGS quad sheet and press Enter.
  5. If the image is in a read-only folder, click Cancel to not save the image or browse to a new location for the image.
  6. On the ribbon, click Raster Tools tab Insert & Write panel Save As . Then select the image frame of the tractor image.
  7. Browse to the folder in which you want to save the image, change the filename to farm and click Save.
  8. In the Encoding Method dialog box, select an encoding option and then click Finish.
  9. Select the image frame of the aerial photograph in the upper right of the drawing area.
  10. Right-click and click Repeat ISAVEAS from the shortcut menu.
  11. Browse to the folder in which you want to save the image, change the filename to Aerial_photo and click Save.

    The aerial photograph is a TIFF image. AutoCAD Raster Design toolset prompts you to select an encoding method.

  12. In the Encoding Method dialog box, select the Uncompressed encoding option click Next.
  13. Select the organization Tiled option and click Finish.

    The image is saved.

  14. Close the drawing without saving changes.
