When using Dynamo Player to run a Dynamo graph on a Civil 3D model, you may need to select objects from the model for use in the graph.
If you have trouble selecting model objects as described in Provide Input for a Graph from Dynamo Player, consider the following points:
Click Select first. To select Civil 3D objects as input for a graph, in Dynamo Player, first press Select in the graph's Inputs dialog. Then click in the Civil 3D window, and select the desired objects.
If you select Civil 3D objects before clicking Select in Dynamo Player, Dynamo Player ignores the current Civil 3D selections.
If you need to cancel out of selection mode in Civil 3D, press ESC.
Let Dynamo do the filtering. Dynamo can be a powerful tool for simplifying workflows in Civil 3D.
For example, when a Dynamo graph uses the Select Multiple Objects node, you don't need to filter the selection in Civil 3D. Instead, simply click and drag in Civil 3D to window/cross select a set of any visible objects. Then run the graph in Dynamo Player. Dynamo automatically filters the selection set to include only the objects needed by the graph.
Complete the selection in Civil 3D. Some types of selection require that you perform an additional action (such as pressing Enter) to complete the selection.
