Input/Output Parameters Tab

Define the parameters that can be specified when the subassembly is used in a corridor model.

If a property is defined as an input parameter, the user can either accept the default value, or enter a custom value to suit the design.

Note: The default Side parameter cannot be deleted. The Default Value of the Side parameter is Right.

You can rearrange (by dragging and dropping) the order of the input/output parameters and target parameters of the subassembly on the Input/Output Parameters tab or the Target Parameters tab. Click the parameter name and drag it up or down in the order of parameters. The order on the Input/Output Parameters tab is used in the Properties palette when the PKT file is used in Civil 3D.

Name Specifies a user-defined name for the parameter. The name must not begin with a numeral or contain spaces or special characters.

This name can be entered in place of a numeric value in the point geometry properties. This enables the user to either accept the Default Value, or enter a specific value.

Note: The names assigned to the superelevation parameters are generated automatically when you select a superelevation parameter as the Type. These names cannot be changed.
Type Specifies the type of parameter:
  • Integer
  • Double
  • String
  • Grade
  • Slope
  • Yes\No
  • Side
  • The following types are superelevation-related:

  • Superelevation
  • Superelevation Axis of Rotation
  • Slope Direction
  • Potential Pivot
  • Note: Select the ApplyAOR check box in the Properties panel for links to which you want to apply superelevation. For more information, see About Defining Superelevation for a Subassembly.
Direction Specifies whether the current parameter is an input parameter or an output parameter.
Default Value Specifies the default parameter value when the subassembly is inserted into an assembly. The user can change the default value either through AutoCAD Properties palette, the Subassembly Parameters dialog box, or the Assembly Properties dialog box.
Display Name Specifies the parameter name, as it appears in the Autodesk Civil 3D Properties palette tooltip. The Display name must not begin with a numeral.
Description Specifies the parameter description, as it appears in the Autodesk Civil 3D Properties palette tooltip.
