There are three types of environments for using
Collaboration for Civil 3D.
Low-trust environment (controlled sharing)
- Teams have no access to each other's work-in-progress DWGs.
- XREF other teams' DWGs from consumed packages.
- Each team uses an independent data shortcut working folder.

- Teams control which version they consume.
Medium-trust environment (controlled sharing)
- Teams have no access to each other's work-in-progress DWGs.
- XREF other teams' DWGs from shared packages.
- Each team uses an independent data shortcut working folder.

High-trust environment (uncontrolled sharing)
- Teams have access to each other's work-in-progress DWGs.
- XREF other teams' DWGs from their working folder.
- Each team uses an independent data shortcut working folder.
