Speed striping is used to control vehicle speeds. They work very like rumble strips except that the emphasis is on a visual deterrent rather than an audible and physical one.
Expand an arm and click Speed Striping in the left hand pane. The Speed Striping page is displayed.
Use the Speed Striping checkbox to enable or disable the speed striping.
Speed strips start at the Outer Offset from Entry Intersect (furthest from the roundabout) and end closer to the roundabout at the Inner Offset from Entry Intersect. Both are measured along the offside (or splitter) definition line from the intersection of that line and the inscribed circle.
The Outer Strip Spacing is often wider than the Inner Strip Spacing.
The Strip Width is measured perpendicular to the strip and does not vary.
The Strip Angle is measured relative to the normal to the offside definition line. Rotation is positive when the strips are turned away from the roundabout.
The Striping Area Length Along Road is the distance between the start and end offsets.
In all cases the Max and Min values represent the limiting values from the adopted design standard.
