To Convert Alignment Curve Groups to Fixed Entities

Use the Convert to Fixed command to convert an alignment with a curve group to fixed geometry. You can use this command on an alignment with a curve group so that it can be edited in a previous release of the application. All of the elements in the curve groups will be converted into individual fixed entities.

After using the command, any curve groups will be converted into individual entities with a fixed constraint. Curves are converted to curves with three fixed points, tangents are converted to tangents with two fixed points, and spirals are converted to have a fixed length.

You can also use this command to convert any individual alignment geometry that is not fixed to be fixed. For example, a free curve will be converted to a curve with three fixed points.

  1. Select the alignment to convert.
  2. On the alignment contextual tab, click Modify panel Convert to Fixed Find.

Only static alignments can be converted. If you selected a dynamic alignment, a message dialog box will be displayed asking you whether to convert the alignment to static. Click OK to continue.
