About Working with File Naming Standards in Autodesk Docs

In some cases, when Naming Conventions is enabled for a directory in Autodesk Docs, stability issues can occur when MMS files begin to synchronize with the Autodesk Desktop Connector. Non-compliant names are placed in a holding area which can lead to broken dataset links and potential data loss.

If this occurs, consider trying either of the following in Autodesk Docs:

Option 1

1. On the problematic directory, select the Settings drop-down.
2. Select More Remove naming standard.
3. Attempt to synchronize again.

Option 2

1. Click Files.
2. On the Settings page select the Naming Standards tab.
3. In the Applied to folders column, click Select folders.
4. In the Select Folders dialog box, deselect all folders.
5. Click Save.

Files from the Holding area will be pulled to avoid broken links.
