Create Pipe Run from Object Dialog Box

Use this dialog box to create a pressure network from a drawing object.

You can select one of the following entity types in a drawing and create a pipe run from it: line, arc, 2D or 3D polyline, feature line, alignment, or survey figure.

Network Name

Displays the name of the pressure network.

Pipe Run Name

Specifies the name of the pipe run. Each pipe run must have a unique name.

Pipe Run Name Template

Opens the Name Template dialog box, where you can modify the pipe run naming template.

Pipe Run Description

Specifies an optional description for the pipe run.

Parts List

Specifies the parts list associated with the pipe run. For more information, see To Work With Pressure Network Parts Lists.

Pipe Size

Specifies the size and material for the pipes of the pipe run. This list is populated by the associated parts list.

Layers

Opens the Pressure Network Layers dialog box, where you can assign the pressure network components to specific layers in the drawing.

Reference Surface

Specifies the reference surface associated with this pipe run.

Create Surface Profile to Follow

When selected, a surface profile will be created from the reference surface. The surface profile is available for selection from the Pipe Run Profile Settings dialog box.

Reference Alignment

Specifies the reference alignment associated with this pipe run. This alignment is used for the purposes of labeling the pipe run with station and offset information.

Select <This Pipe Run> to use the underlying alignment in the pipe run you are creating as the reference alignment.
Note: The reference alignment may be the same alignment you associate with the pipe run for purposes of viewing and editing the pipe run in profile view, but it is not required that it is the same.
Horizontal Offset Difference

Species the horizontal offset distance from the selected reference alignment from which the pipe run will be created.

Elevation Reference

Cover
Specifies that the pipe run is set at an elevation below the reference surface. This value is measured between the reference surface and the outside top of the pipe or pipe fittings as defined in the Pipe Run Profile Settings dialog box. Enter the elevation in the Cover box.
Use Vertex Elevations

When this option is selected, the elevations of any vertexes along the selected entity are used to set the elevations of the parts created in the network. The following options are available: Outside Top, Crown, Centerline, Invert, and Outside Bottom.

Erase Existing Entity
Specifies whether the object you selected will be erased automatically when you create the pressure network.
Note: This option is disabled when you select an object from an XREF.
