About the Part-Based Pressure Network Plan Layout Tools
Use the part-based
Pressure Network Plan Layout ribbon to create and edit part-based pressure networks in plan view.
To access the part-based
Pressure Network Plan Layout ribbon, do one of the following:
On the
Prospector tab, right-click
Pressure NetworksCreate Pressure Pipe Network by Layout. When you run this command, you are prompted to enter information into the Create Pressure Pipe Network dialog box. After you click
OK in that dialog box, the part-based
Pressure Network Plan Layout ribbon appears.
Select a part-based pressure network. The
Pressure Networks contextual ribbon tab is displayed. On the
Modify panel, click
Edit NetworkPlan Layout ToolsFind.
The following commands are available on the
Network Settings panel:
Reference Surface: Specifies the reference surface, which is used along with the
Cover value to establish the pressure network elevations.
Note: You can also specify an elevation at the command line during layout. For more information, see
About Part-Based Pressure Networks.
Reference Alignment: Specifies the reference alignment, which provides station and offset information for the pressure network.
Pressure Network Parts List: Specifies the pressure network parts list, which contains the parts that are available during layout. The available parts in the parts list also impact the display of the
compass. For example, if a parts list contains only a 90 degree bend, the compass shows 90 degree angle increments.
Cover: Sets the top of the pressure network at a specified depth below (or above if the value is negative) the reference surface during layout.
The following commands are available on the
Layout panel:
Pipes & Bends: Creates part-based pressure network pipe segments in plan view and inserts bends at directional changes. When creating a part-based pressure network, the
Pipes & Bends option is selected by default. Select the size and material of the pressure pipes to insert from the
Select A Size And Material list.
Note: When you use the
Pipes & Bends option, the pipes and bends share the same material and nominal diameter.
Pipes Only: Creates part-based pressure network pipe segments in plan view and inserts deflected pipes at directional changes. Select the size and material of the pressure pipes to insert from the
Select A Size And Material list.
The following commands are available on the
Insert panel:
Add Fitting: Adds a fitting to a pressure network in plan view. Select the type, size, and material of the part to add from the drop-down list.
Add Appurtenance: Adds an appurtenance to a pressure network in plan view. Select the type, size, and material of the part to add from the drop-down list.
The following commands are available on the
Modify panel:
Break Pipe: Breaks a pressure pipe into two pressure pipes at a selected point. The pressure pipes are connected, and are contained in the same network as the original pressure pipe.
Move Parts: Repositions selected part-based pressure network parts to a new location in the drawing.
Slide Parts: Moves a group of parts along another pressure pipe.
Panorama: Opens the pressure network Panorama, which you can use to view and edit pressure network properties.
The following commands are available on the
Compass panel:
Compass Visibility: Controls the display of the compass in plan view.
Compass Color: Specifies the color of the compass.
Compass Size: Specifies the diameter of the compass in pixels.
Compass 3D Plane: Specifies the increment by which the working plane is rotated in model view. When you are working in model view and the compass is visible, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts to control the compass plane:
Enter
P to rotate the compass plane in increments equal to the value of the increment setting.
Enter
Shift+P to rotate the compass in the reverse direction.
Enter
R to restore the compass to the initial plane setting.
Compass 3D Snap: Specifies the increment by which fittings and appurtenances can be rotated in model view using the compass. This increment setting applies to the compass when invoked with the Rotation grip on fittings and appurtenances in model view. When you are working in model view, you can click the Rotation grip to activate the grip and the compass.
