Create More Workcells
Create two more workcells using the skills you've learned in Tutorial 3.
Previous steps: Open the 3D Layout Again in 2D | Next steps: Tutorial 4 - Material Flow Analysis and Machine Utilization
Complete the two exercise challenges to practice what you have learned in Tutorials 1 through 3. These challenges are optional, but are good practice.
Exercise Challenge 1
Open AutoCAD.
Open the exercise file in FDU Tutorial > Tutorial 1-3 > Challenge Cell #1.dwg.
In the Asset Browser Search bar, locate the following assets:
- Belt Conveyor (Chain)
- Guard Rail (Chain)
- Robot Riser (Cloud Asset)
- Container Solid
- Forklift Truck
To download the searched assets for use, select the asset thumbnail image in the Asset Browser and Select Download from the right-click context menu.
- Place the assets on your new layout as shown in the following image.
- Open the layout in Inventor and place the TD_Arm Welding Clamp 48 robots you used in the previous tutorial onto the risers as shown in the following image.
- Open the 3D layout again in AutoCAD to update all the drawings.

- Open AutoCAD.
- Open the exercise file in FDU Tutorial > Tutorial 1-3 > Challenge Cell #2.dwg.
- In the Asset Browser Search bar, locate the following assets and Download them for use.
Note: See step 4 in preceding Exercise Challenge 1 for instructions on how to download assets from the Asset Browser.
- Straight Belt Conveyor
- Curved Belt Conveyor
- Guard Rail (Chain)
- CNC Machine
- Pallet
- Forklift Truck
- Man
- Open the layout in Inventor and place any additional assets as necessary.
- Open the Inventor layout again in AutoCAD to update all the drawings.
